Crisis in Malibu AYSO

Happy New Year to all of Malibu AYSO’s soccer families! As you know, Malibu AYSO soccer just completed another exciting season of providing fun, competitive recreational soccer to hundreds of boys and girls in and around the City of Malibu.

Unfortunately, the 2016 AYSO season will not happen without your help. At the Board level, Malibu AYSO needs administrator volunteers for a number of required Board positions.  The Board has reached out to dozens of people in the Malibu community over the past months in an effort to at least fill the Regional Commissioner, Registrar and Assistant RC slots on the Board, to no avail.

If the Board is unable to fill these three roles in February with individuals who are vetted and approved by AYSO Regional and Sectional administrations, the sustainability of Malibu AYSO’s recreational soccer program as currently configured is in jeopardy.

To be blunt, unless a number of committed volunteers are willing to step forward now there is a good chance that Malibu’s boys and girls and their families will have to travel to Agoura, Thousand Oaks or the Pacific Palisades to play recreational soccer.

We will hold a town hall meeting at the Landon Center on Thursday February 11th  from 6:30-8:30 to discuss this important topic. Please be there and tell others if you want your child to have the same great program playing soccer on the more beautiful fields around.  Send this to others so we can get the best result for our kids this Fall!

Save the date!
